Amazon.com If the producers of the movie Happy Feet had enough foresight, they would have dispatched a CD vendor with batches of this disc to every theater exit sign in America. Outside of Shrek and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, few kiddie flicks have fed a need to hear certain songs again as effectively. That's in part because of "Song of the Heart," a suitably frisky Prince number you won't find anywhere else. But it also has something to do with the efforts of some unlikely performers. Who knew Brittany Murphy could sing? "Boogie Wonderland," her cover of the '70s classic, crackles with big-voiced confidence, and "Somebody to Love," another classic cover, claws listeners in by the flipper-ful. Even Robin Williams's typically manic "My Way (a Mi Manera)" isn't without its charms. Nicole Kidman's "Kiss" mashed with Hugh Jackman's "Heartbreak Hotel" may be among the disc's weaker moments, but the grownups will like it that way--with their kind of star wattage, they're already stealing enough shows. And there's plenty to focus on besides them: standouts include Pink's untethered rendition of "Tell Me Something Good," k.d. lang's beautiful Beatles medley "Golden Slumbers/The End," and the Beach Boys' underappreciated gem, "Do It Again." --Tammy La Gorce
Album Description Soundtrack to a comedy adventure--Happy Feet is set deep in Antarctica. Into the land of the Emperor Penguins where each needs a heart song to attract a sould mate, a penguin is born who cannot sing. Our hero Mumble, son of Memphis and Norma Jean, is the worst singer in the world...however, as it happens, he is a brilliant tap dancer!

Worth It For The Prince Song January 30, 2010 abbylamb As far as animated movie soundtracks go this isn't too bad. I use to listen to it when I was younger so it does have some good memories. It reminds me of walking on the beach at Florida and listening to the CD while I was trying to go to sleep.
For a few days I've really wanted to find the CD of this for Prince's "Song Of The Heart". Thankfully, I found it between some books in my bedroom. "Song Of The Heart" is truely one of the greatest songs used in a kids movie. The other songs are average as far as I can remember. You're better off listening to the originals and the mashups are a little akward. I'm just going to put the CD on my computer and only put "Song Of The Heart" on my ipod.
If you're kids are dissapointed because it doesn't follow the movie very well at least you can introduce them to Prince, the greatest artist of all time!
Should be named "Cover of songs in the movie" November 5, 2009 L. Balog (Florida) I was so excited about the songs in the movie! When I got the CD, I felt ripped OFF! What is the matter with these soundtrack producers that think we want to hear songs that were in the movie, but not by who did them, or how they were recorded for the actual movie.I liked the funky rapper style that blended so well in the actual movie, but I am getting sick of everything redone trying to appeal to gangstas. I promise to NEVER , ever buy another movie soundtrack without first previewing the songs. As far as I am concerned, I wasted my money. Don't buy this soundtrack if you LOVED the way the music was in Happy Feet.. You'll regret it.
Great CD, condition it came in not so great. September 1, 2009 S. Osse I know I purchased this item used, but the case was cracked all down the front, and the front of the case was filthy. The CD worked great so I guess that is what matters. The soundtrack is great, my son loves it!
Not Same As Movie September 1, 2009 Camryn Barnes (San Jose, California, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was really disappointed with the soundtrack. I Loved the movie "Happy Feet" and the songs just made it more awesome, but the soundtrack was terrible. There were all these songs that I did not recognize and my favorites "Somebody to Love," "Boogie Wonderland," and "Heartbreak Hotel/Kiss" did not sound at all like the movie versions which were I admit were the ones that had me singing along. I didn't even finish listening to half the songs on the cd because the songs on the soundtrack were in no way comparable with the songs from the movie. If you like the songs from the movie then just watch them from the movie. Don't waste your time with this cd.
Disney at its greedy best July 10, 2009 Edmond G. Bertrand (Boston) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to buy just one song off this album - "A Mi Manera" by Robin Williams. It's the only one that I thought worth the $$ - but Disney won't let us. That sucks.
