5 out of 5 stars My Kindle is great!   March 11, 2010
Betty Adair (GODLEY, TEXAS, US)
It took months to convince myself I wanted a Kindle. Now that I have it, I just love it. I am amazed how easy it is to order books or even a sample of a book (read the first chapter free). Before I ordered my Kindle, I downloaded and read my first Amazon book on my laptop. After that, I knew I wanted a Kindle. I am retired with an active life. The Kindle is so easy to use. I ordered a hinged cover for my Kindle from Amazon. It is very nice. So, I take my Kindle everywhere. You will too once you fall in love with it like I did.

5 out of 5 stars Why did I wait so long?   March 11, 2010
Harima (Belfast, ME)
After several weeks owning my new Kindle, I have to stop asking myself this question. Oh Kindle....Dear Kindle.... Why did I wait so long?
For years I waited to purchase an eReader, constantly comparing the Sony brand to the Amazon brand and other devices and versions of eReaders. When the B&N Nook came out I knew I had to get something. I spent several weeks again comparing feature to feature of all the available eReaders. The Nook almost had me with the small color screen but the features were not adding up and the complaints that I saw on the web and reviews from talk show hosts about the Nook's system problems was enough to direct me back to the Kindle (6 inch Latest Generation).

Again, why did I wait so long! I love my Kindle. It's like the best friend I didn't know I wanted until they arrived on my door step. I have been able to escape the rainy cold days seeking shelter in the storyline of a wonderful book and my life for a few hours transforms itself and teleports me to a new adventure. I have never read so many books so quickly in years. It is as if the passion and love or reading has rekindled itself within me. You get it Re-Kindled itself....

The best part is that every few weeks when I go to the Amazon online bookstore there are free books that I can download and lose myself all over again. I have several titles in my wish list cart of books that I want to purchase for the 9.99 price but I am so fascinated by the free books that I figure 'why not save some money and try these free books while I am here!' The free books are pretty good too! I don't look at it as a waste of time if the book is not A+ quality, because I only select books that have been rated 3 stars or above for right now. I have read some that I would give a B- and those I don't feel were a waste of time either. The characters are so much fun to get to know. Each of them have some type of quality no matter how small that I find fascinating.

Oh Kindle....Dear Kindle.... Why did I wait so long? ..... I am glad the wait is finally over!

5 out of 5 stars AMAZON KINDLE   March 11, 2010
Virginia Lucas (University Park, PA USA)
THE AMAZON KINDLE IS EVERYTHING THAT I EXPECTED, AND MORE. I CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE WITH ME, FITS IN MY POCKETBOOK, EXTREMELY EASY TO READ, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE. EXCELLENT PRODUCT, I LOVE IT.

5 out of 5 stars How did I survive without my kindle?   March 11, 2010
Jenna (California)
I was worried I wouldn't like holding it the same as a real book in my hand, but I actually like it better. It's lighter, easier to hold, and very comfortable. It takes out the time of having to drive to the bookstore, which is pretty far away from my house. I like that you can download the first chapters of the books, so I can decide if I want to continue reading or not. I was worried it wouldn't be good because they just released a new version, but it's fine. It has made reading more accessible and enjoyable for me. I'm so glad I made the decision to purchase my kindle.

There are things that can be improved:
I hope in the future, that they have a version with a touch screen, so that you don't have to fool around with the clunky keyboard. I also hope that they create a feature that lets you loan books to friends. Usually when I read a really good book, I'll pass it along and let my friends read it, but I wasn't able to share it because I'd bought it on the kindle. I also wish it had a better filing system for storing books that you have purchased, so that you can scroll around and find them easier.

5 out of 5 stars KIndle is as good as recommended   March 11, 2010

Bought it for my wife. She is not tech savy but loves the Kindle. It is very easy to use easy to carry and easy to read while she is sitting on our deck even in bright sun light.
